James, a

James, a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ

of the 12 tribes and the dispersion.

Greetings, comes right out of the gate swinging.

Keep in mind, we talked about this last week,

bit of an introduction.

James is the half brother of Jesus.

His name comes from the Hebrew root Jacob.

And so he is, in fact, Jacob still speaking to the 12 tribes or his 12 sons

1800 years later it's all connected God is sovereign he's in charge James the

half brother of Jesus who did not believe in Jesus during his earthly life and ministry,

but post-resirection Jesus appears to his little brother, if you will, and reveals to him that

I am the Savior James is converted

from best we can tell all of his brothers and sisters are converted and there's a bit of

revival in Jesus home and then James later writes one of the very first letters or books

we have in the New Testament known now as the Book of James.

But you'll notice this audience or this letter is written to Jewish believers in the

known world.

And so you're going to find out real quick that this is a letter written to Christians.

Now if you're here today and you're not a Christian this still affords you an incredible opportunity to kind of peer into what it would look like if you became a Christian.
