My roommate and I were sitting in our dorm room after a long week of classes. I was lucky to be

paired up with Jonathan. We had similar tastes in music, movies, and games. One of our favorite

games was an online MMO involving cyberpunk characters. It was a little obscure, but had a cult

following. Each of us must have put in a thousand hours into the game,

leveling up and doing quests.

Both of us had a real fun time doing it,

and we even got several others on our same floor to set up a clan.

We were so obsessed with the game

that when we were on our phones in bed,

we'd be discussing new updates, bugs,

and trying to speculate what the developers were cooking up next.

There was an online discussion board that most of the fan base was a part of.

Jonathan and I had been members in it for about a year and had a decent standing within the community.

We were named Churno 88 and Adam 53.

Eventually, I received a private message from one of the moderators I was familiar

with. Vector Hex said, Hey, Cherno 88, I think you are pretty cool, and your clan is one of the more

popular ones. I'm thinking about switching clans. Maybe we could talk in Discord or text. What's your

number? It was late, and I really wasn't in the mood to take on another member in the clan.

We wanted to keep it exclusive to just our group of friends, so I ignored the message and went to bed.

Next morning I awoke before my alarm and got up to check my school email.

My roommate heard me rustling about and woke up too.

Your typing is really loud, dude, he groaned.
