Seuss to kick us off. When he worked, he really, really worked. But when he played, he really, really played. So here we go. Let's step into the wheat

together. It turns out that I don't enjoy convertibles in August, in particular in southern Florida heat.

I don't typically eat at the Olive Garden, and in particular, two nights in a row.

I don't usually come back for dinner and eat popcorn in bed while watching the Disney Channel,

and I don't often play minigolf, float on a lazy river, or go down a large water slide repeatedly,

all before taking the stage at a speaking event.

But two weeks ago, in Orlando, Florida, I did every one of those things.

Well, why? Why?

For the last several years, my kids get to join me on a daddy trip.

They get to go to a speaking event with me.

They review my schedule. They choose where

they want to go and then they choose every single activity we do while we're there together.

The kids think the experience is all about them having fun. It's not. It's actually about me being

very selfish and me making an excuse to spend some incredibly special time with each of them, getting to know them as individuals, not just as part of the family or kids, but as little individuals.

Last week, my youngest, name is Grace. She went on our very first daddy trip with me.

She chose Orlando, Florida.

She picked every single thing we did while we were there.

She picked the water slide.
