Hi everyone and welcome to this week's Ask Alice. Now I felt this question was pretty apt given how I am currently feeling if I've been completely honest and it was around burnout and what to do when you feel like you're burning out and you can't really press pause on life and I totally

0:18.8

related to this question because that's currently how I'm feeling guys and so I thought I

0:24.0

would give you some of the things that I think are helping me and you know it's one of

0:29.0

those things where like life for everyone I think probably feels exceptionally busy you know there's always that analogy

0:36.3

that like anytime you ask any more with doing that yeah really busy and I think that

0:41.6

one of the things we have to look at and funny enough I had a therapy session this week where I literally just like poured my heart and I was like I feel so at capacity and I've got nothing left in me was to really look at like everything that's in our lives and working out where we can drop certain things and that's not that you're failing or that you're not good at running multiple things in your life.

1:04.9

It's just accepting the reality that we cannot do everything.

1:09.0

And to the person that asks this question,

1:11.0

if you're anything like me, you like to be really good at

1:13.7

everything you do and so you want to be really good at you know doing your job and a

1:19.7

really good friend and a really good family member and a really good mom and a really good family member and a really good person up to those around

1:28.0

you if any of those things start to slip because you're exhausted and because you're trying to be really good at all of those things, you start to feel

1:36.7

as though you're not good enough and then that negative self-talk comes in and it can be a very

1:41.4

quick spiral into feeling as though you're not doing anything good enough.

1:44.5

I think that what's really important to remind ourselves of constantly is that life is a constant

1:49.8

juggling act. Everything that we do in life is about prioritizing some things over others, then

1:55.7

prioritizing other things over other things. It's about constantly shifting our priorities

2:01.0

and recognizing that at different points of our lives

2:04.0

different things are going to have to take precedent and the important thing to

2:08.4

remember is that the only thing that you are going to have to keep as a constant is your health and your happiness.

2:16.8

Priorities will shift and change, but ultimately you've got to be able to put your head on the pillow at night and think,

2:22.2

I'm doing okay, I'm doing a good job I'm happy and I think that if you are
