forward to hearing from you. Matthew 5 is the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus

is talking about what the kingdom of heaven is like. He's been in the last few verses

talking about what kingdom citizens are like. Those people who want to be a part of what

God's doing in the world are going to be a certain kind of people. Matthew 5, 14 to 16

says it this way, and remember, this is Jesus describing this. He says, you are the light

of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put

it under a basket, but on a stand and it gives light to the whole house. In the same way,

let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory

to your father who is in heaven. Now, Jesus moves into the realm of physics in this one by

talking about light. Did you know Jesus was a scientist? Absolutely. Look what he's saying.
