I'd like to share with you a lesson today that I learned early in life and it's really

It's brought me a lot of peace.

And I think that probably not enough people know this,

and they run themselves ragged, trying to help or even control others.

The truth is this.

So when I was growing up, because there was so much chaos, right? We lived in a series of domestic

violent shelters. My father was an addict. The behavior of the people in my family, it was quite erratic.

It could be very embarrassing and it was public, right, the way that I saw people in my family behave, it could easily be quite humiliating whether you're a child,

you're an adult, because it's your family, you think it's a reflection on you know

learned early that I am not responsible for my parents in fact a social worker

told me and my sister that look I know that there you know, there are all these things that happen and they're uncomfortable

and we're doing our best to help, but you are not responsible for your parents.

of course, like your mother, your father,

But this is true when it comes to anybody in our lives.
