Hey, good morning, everybody.

It's Monday devotional time, and I've got a great thought for you.

I hope you had a great weekend.

And please know that my goal in spending time with you throughout the week,

Mondays and Wednesdays and Friday for our cultural wrap-up,

is to encourage you, it's to comfort you,

and urge you to live lives worthy of God. Why? Because he has

called us to share in his kingdom and in his glory. So this is the day that God is made for you.

He has ordained everything that's going to be coming to you, Father filtered for your good.

You are going to face temptation today, but you won't face it alone because there's

a warrior spirit living inside of you who is fighting on your behalf. I did this for my kids when they

were little. I did it without them even knowing I was doing it. And I did it with great joy and commitment without complaining because I knew they needed

me to.

I knew that they were totally unaware of how vulnerable they were and how vicious the world

they were in was going to treat them.

I did this for years and years and years.

What was it that I did as a father for my children?

I did everything within my power to protect them from evil.

I knew that they would forget two important realities. The first one is that they lived in a broken, fallen world. They had no concept of this as little kids,

that sin had entered into the world and there was a curse upon the ground. There would be all sorts of things that their eyes would not be able to handle,

that their ears were never meant to hear.

And they had no idea that these things were so dangerous,
