I'll never forget bringing our first child home from the hospital.

He came a few weeks early and none of our family had made it into town yet.

We left for the hospital just the two of us and then a few days later the three of us

came home alone with no operating manual.

My wife and I standing alone in the house, peering into the crib with spring, we can't

do this.

Even if you aren't a parent, has anyone ever asked you to step in for them?

Maybe to give a presentation you didn't feel qualified to give, or to give a speech you

didn't feel competent to share.

Maybe run a meeting you didn't feel skilled enough to lead.

Well, you aren't alone.

The theme of this meditation from Jeremiah chapter 1 is about stepping up, facing your

fear to accept the divine confidence that comes from knowing that God has chosen you for

a task and that he will give you the ability to complete it.

You will be together for about 15 minutes, so begin your time of meditation by settling

into a time of confidence, a place of strength to accept God's courage, and a moment to

concede to the sovereign plans of God, spirit and sun.
