Summary

We are always told “prepare for emergencies” or “make an emergency preparedness plan.” The problem is the nature of an emergency is they are unpredictable and the situations are usually not something we expect. All we can do is do our best to prepare so when it happens we at least have a head start.

The type of emergencies I talk about in this episode is any situation where you either, can’t make it back home or you have to leave your home. Having a dog can make both of these situations even more complicated.

When faced with an emergency you will have a lot of things to think about. Planning ahead can take the stress out of the situation that you are dealing with.

In this Episode I walk you through making a list of people, places, and things that you may need in these types of emergencies when it comes to taking care of your dog. Keep this list in a safe place so it’s ready for you when you need to use it.

My hope for you is that this will be the best time you ever wasted.

0:56.1	emergency. So the type of emergency that I'm talking about is if you can't make it back to your home or if you have to evacuate your home.
1:06.4	So this could be your own personal emergency,
1:09.4	whether it's a medical emergency, a family emergency, even a work emergency, or something's happening in
1:16.2	your home, you lose electricity, there's that ever dreaded fire, or it could also be something
1:22.4	that's happening in your area, like a natural disaster, a flood, a fire, a really bad snowstorm, whatever it is.
1:31.0	It really actually doesn't matter what the emergency is the whole idea is that you
1:36.1	were going to have to deal with a whole lot of things going on if you can't get to
1:39.4	your home or if you have to evacuate your home when when you have a dog, it can make that situation a lot more complicated.
1:47.0	So I am going to help you prepare for that emergency by making a plan.
1:52.0	I know, we are always told, make a plan, make a plan. I know we were always told make a plan make a plan
1:54.9	make a plan for emergencies but how many of us actually sit down and write one out?
2:00.9	Now my hope for you is that I'm about to completely waste your time and you will never need to use this plan.
2:10.0	But on the off chance that you will need it, it is going to be so worth it because it's going to be one less thing you have to worry about because you already know what to do.
2:20.0	All you're going to need is something to write with, whether it's a pen and paper or a document on your computer.
