0:53.7	2025, this is the sort of sister or sort of offshoot podcast to Dark Histories. My name's Ben. I'm the host as always.
0:57.6	This week we're going to start, I think, with a little sporting story Monday the 20th of
1:05.1	April and it comes from 1823. Now this is from a paper called Bell's Life in London and Sporting Chronicle,
1:14.8	which claims to report on interesting bits of real life,
1:18.3	which I think is probably a bit of an understatement.
1:20.9	There is a bit of a backstory before I kind of launch into this.
1:24.2	It's quite a long sporting piece, but it's about a boxing match. And
1:28.6	the best I can tell is between a boxer called Dick Curtis and Peter Warren. And I sort of got
1:37.7	a bit into it and looked into it a little bit more. And there is some backstory. So Dick Curtis
1:44.1	beat Peter Warren quite badly a few months before this fight.
1:50.0	But Warren apparently at the time was not half satisfied on the subject
1:54.3	and attributed his failure to accident, apparently.
1:57.2	So he wanted a rematch, right?
