0:16.8	This is yesterday day, started for the week of 8th of June, 2025.
0:23.0	Before we get started with the news stories, though,
0:25.8	I do want to just sort of another call back to last week's or last episode of yesterday, today,
0:30.9	about the story of the indention apprentice who ran away and his master was looking for him and willing to give a reward
0:39.9	of an old sheepskin to anyone who could find him. Marbella wrote in to say that, yeah, as I
0:47.6	kind of sadly expected and hoped wasn't, an indentured apprentice is essentially slavery.
0:55.8	So, yeah, I was, you know, because at the time on the story, I was like, oh, you know,
0:59.2	usually you see those notices for slaves.
1:01.8	You don't really tend to see them for apprentices.
1:04.1	But, yeah, no, indentured apprentice is essentially, well, it's kind of a weird thing where
1:09.0	people would work for many years,
1:11.1	but they'd get like all of their home, food, education, everything,
1:16.2	taken care of, and then the master would teach them the trade.
1:19.1	That's the idea, right?
1:20.6	That's the idea on paper, but obviously it didn't frequently work that way,
1:24.5	which is why the indentured apprentice, I guess, ran away in that story.
1:28.9	So anyway, moving on, this time, this week marks the 76th anniversary of the publication of Orwell, 1984, which of course, when it released, it was pretty much wall-to-wall praise.
1:43.7	And I did look, because it did actually release to quite a lot of, I guess,
1:48.6	press attention.
1:49.7	But it was almost entirely positive.
