On Wednesday the 29th of October, the Prime Minister declined to rule out breaking his manifesto promises not to raise three key taxes.

There are just four number-crunching weeks left till the budget,

but the opposition leader simply can't wait to see what's in it.

So she tried to sneak a little peek by setting a trap for the Prime Minister.

Last year, in its manifesto, Labour promised not to increase income tax,

not to increase national insurance, and not to increase income tax, not to increase national insurance and not to increase VAT.

Does the Prime Minister still stand by his promises?

Well, Mr. Speaker, I'm glad that the Leader of the opposition is now finally talking about the economy.

I can update the House, Mr. Speaker.

Retail sales are higher than expected.

Inflation is lower than expected.

Growth has been upgraded this year.

And Mr. Speaker, the UK stock market isn't at all-time high.

But he'd failed there to rule out putting up those key taxis.

Kemi Badernock sounded thrilled.

Well, well, well, Mr Speaker.

What a fascinating answer.

It is not the same answer that I received when I asked exactly the same question,

word for word, on the 9th of July.

Then the Prime Minister replied with just one word.

Yes, and then he sat down with a smug grin on his face.
