On Monday the 15th of September, the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmoud, told MPs that the language used by Elon Musk at the weekend was abhorrent.

By the time Shabana Mahmood arrived in the Commons for her first question time as

Home Secretary, Downing Street had already accused Elon Musk of spreading dangerous and

inflammatory language at the protest organised by the far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

On Saturday, the tech billionaire spoke to the crowd in London via VideoLink

and told them that violence was coming and they would have to fight back or die.

The Home Secretary said many of the people on the march

had been exercising their ancient right to peaceful protest.

But not everyone did.

Some turned on the brave police officers who were there to keep the peace.

26 officers were injured and 24 protesters were arrested.

Those violent thugs will face the full force of the law.

She then turned her attention to Elon Musk, although she didn't name him.

When a foreign billionaire calls on our citizens to fight against our ancient democracy,

I know this is met by the vast majority with a shake of the head.

And that's because we are, in truth, a tolerant country.

And yes, we are a diverse one too. You can be English with

roots here that stretch back a thousand years, but you can also be English and look like me.
