Okay, some apologetics. The idea that your eternal destiny is secure, that you're

absolutely certain you're going to heaven no matter what you do. It's a very attractive idea. It's very tempting.

In this video I'm going to expose the once saved always saved theory as a false tradition of

men however and that's one that you can easily refute from

the Bible alone. If Vito Corleone got the message that all he needed to do to be

saved was to receive Christ as his Savior that salvation is an indestructible party ticket.

That will be an offer you can't refuse. Think about it. Talk about a deal.

All you need to do is have faith, say the sinners prayer, receive Christ as your Savior,

and you'll be assured of your salvation at the end of your life. That sounds too good to be true.

Because it is. There are two problems with the one saved, always saved theory.

Problem number one. The Bible teaches the opposite.

Problem number two.

No one taught or believed it before John Calvin essentially invented it in the mid-16th century.

The Once Save Always Save Theory is a kind of American Protestant shorthand for the P in the Calvinist tulip acronym,

P being perseverance of the Saints.

The saved will simply persevere because God foreordains it. And if someone should

backslide out of the faith altogether through the sin of say apostasy,

then all the other Christians can say is, obviously he was never a true

Christian to begin with, a baptized version of the No True Scotsman fallacy.

Let's begin with you and me. We are made for heaven by God yet because of free will we are in peril of hell. God has brought salvation to everyone, Titus 211, and he desires that all men

be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. 1st Timothy 2 verse 4, and I say,

amen to all that. However, we're sinners whom God has chosen to redeem through his son Jesus Christ.
