So I'm recording this on Thursday afternoon, long wet, humid day, watch the Trump press conference, and I have a busy day tomorrow so I figured I'll just

get this done and help out a DOM and the team get this thing done on a more manageable schedule.

So if my brain sounds a little fried, it's only because it is.

So let's talk about the rest conference until I can think of what else to talk about.

As with a lot of these things these days,

I watch these things while following it on Twitter

and in our internal Slack channel

and while texting various friends and colleagues. And so you're kind of letting it wash over you

but also doing real-time punditry and whatever and people kept asking me do I

think it's a disaster do I think it went well and blah blah blah blah blah I kept asking people And people

and I think it went well, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I kept asking people similar questions.

And the truth of matter is that I don't know.

This is one of these things where,

whether you want to call it Trump-Derengen syndrome or bias or cynicism or exhaustion or just the inevitable consequence of having spent the better part of a decade watching this guy.

I simultaneously think it was terrible, but also utterly normal.

I think it's the kind of thing that in a more properly

oriented universe or a society or moment or whatever it would be the kind of thing that
