Summary

Michigan and Wayne County have repeatedly been targeted in Trump’s attempts to overturn the election results. In particular, he and his supporters have singled out Detroit, a heavily Democratic, majority-Black city. We talk to Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib about that effort. Plus, we get her take on what’s next for House Democrats and what she’d like to see from the Biden administration.

And in headlines: what happens when the Pope likes posts, no more politics in Animal Crossing, and Rudy Giuliani melts. Plus, we’re joined by writer and comedian Demi Adejuyigbe.

Thanksgiving dish, whole cans of delicious cranberry sauce.

0:15.5

Yeah, not the ones with the actual cranberries in it. I want Jello-esque cranberry sauce that

literally is a can. Yeah, if it doesn't bounce off the ground, then it doesn't count.

Yeah, before you know it, hope you can all take a break as well and be safe without making

your family sad as a tough task. But back to today's show. In the aftermath of the election,

1:06.6

President Trump has taken even more steps to overthrow the will of voters as his legal strategy

1:11.4

has dramatically failed at every turn. Today, he is reportedly set to meet with top Republican

1:16.5

state legislators from Michigan who he invited to the White House. I guess Trump wanted to concede

1:22.4

in person. Just he reportedly wants them to put in electors that will vote for him because, of course,

1:28.3

both lawmakers have said previously that the person with the most votes in their state will be

1:32.4

certified the winner. That person is President-elect Joe Biden and the certification deadline is next

1:37.9

Monday. So we will have to see. And this comes after an episode in Wayne County that we talked about

1:43.2

on yesterday's show where Republican members on the canvassing board initially voted against

certifying results, then reversed their position, and then after that signed affidavits to rescind
