Today's guidance recommends how to deliver both praise and feedback, although not together, and why they are both valuable and completely different.

podcast and so unfortunately there is some annoying GSM buzz in the background during much of the podcast.

Unfortunately, we're not in a position where we can re-record the shows and get it out on time.

All right with that here we go. Oh, Lots of managers ask us about praise, right? That you know does positive feedback

eliminate the need for praise? Yeah, right.

What if I prefer to just give praise and not positive feedback?

You hear that occasionally?

Yes.

Isn't praise just the opposite of negative feedback?

Can hear that.

Right, yeah.

What we think is that lots of us as managers just want to avoid being specific and direct.

And we understand why and we're a little

a little sympathetic too, right?

Work as hard and generally most of us think we don't want to point out one small

thing when there surely were ten good things we didn't see that day.

Yeah.

We understand and unfortunately we got to stand up for the direct here.

Yeah, managers are always telling us the same things nearly at the same time.
