Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus, and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told

and their application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord

has something He wants to say to you through them. Let's join Scott Pauli now.

So often I think we miss what the Lord is trying to say to us because we think he's talking to somebody else.

I just want to tell you, he's talking to you and he's talking to me.

You remember in our last study here in the gospel according to Luke, Jesus told those two stories about the waiting servants and the watching homeowner to remind everybody that was

listening that he was coming back and they needed to be prepared and ready themselves.

Well, immediately after he told those two stories,

in Luke chapter 12, verse 41, we read this.

Then Peter said in a hymn, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us,

or even to all?

In other words, he kind of interrupts the Lord and says,

who are you talking to?

Who are you speaking to? And Peter's question

led to another parable. Jesus often gave answer in narrative form. So it leads to another story,

which we're going to look at in just a moment. But the short answer, the bottom line is yes. Yes,

Peter, I'm talking to you and yes, Peter i'm talking to all it's for you it's for

everybody here it is as if jesus in this parable today says to all of us yes i'm talking to you so forget

everybody else forget family and friends for a minute forget your enemies for a minute forget all

the people that you hope will get right with god for a minute and forget your enemies for a minute, forget all the people that you hope
