I'm referring of course to Giovanni Arrigi's The Long 20th Century.

Money, Power, and the origins of our times. You don't have to have read the book to keep

up with the conversation, as the title probably indicates we will be using our our times all of them to talk about the

book and we'll be using the book to talk about our times and in the process we'll be summing up the main arguments for you

though I still encourage you to go read it for yourself. Before we get to the
