This is Jay Brown Yoga Talks podcast.

My name is Jay Brown, and I want to welcome you to this year-end chicken for 2025.

And whenever I do a solo episode like this, I always feel compelled to mention to anyone who is

listening to the show for the first time that this might not be the best episode to listen to first.

The reason I say that is,

of the 512 episodes that this one will mark,

I believe this will be the seventh time

that I've released a solo episode where it's just

me talking and I don't have a guest.

And four of the previous times that I've done this, they were year-end check-ins like

today.

So all of that is to say it's a rare occasion that I do a solo episode.

And there's lots of other voices on the show.

And some people come and are interested in my intros and outros that I do.

And some people are not so interested in me talking about my stuff and reflecting on things that are more interested

in who I'm talking to. So if you do not find my ramblings today engaging for you, I want to

encourage you to avail yourself of the extensive archives of all the many fantastic people who've been on this show.

And if you're a regular listener or you're one of the people who specifically tune in

for this aspect, you might take note that usually this episode happens last week,

and I record it from my in-laws place in Virginia.

And I had thought that I would continue that tradition this year. Unfortunately, this year is different. And I've sort of mentioned it in a oblique way over the last few weeks, but basically my mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer, and she was given nine to 12 months to live with treatment.
