Pat Boyle with you on a lovely American Tuesday afternoon we opened up the show

talking a little baseball. Let's stay right there here

for just a minute Pat Boyle as we are inching ever closer to the MLB playoffs not as far away as we might like them to be the

dog days of summer underway as we ever inch closer to September. The Houston Astros are about to get a little bit of

a little bit of a bump this team is now five games up on Seattle in the

American League West right now and got a little bit of good news

today as Justin Verlander is set to come off the I L and get back on the hill this one this Wednesday.

That'll be the finale of a three game set against the Boston Red Sox.

Verlander gonna go out there for the first time since June 9th when he started dealing

with stiffness and his neck made a pair of rehab starts through four innings for

Double A Corpus Christi last Thursday. The Astros were asked

if the Cy Young Award winner will be on a pitch count through just 57 pitches in his last

rehab stint.

Manager Spada said, quote, we'll see how the outing goes and how efficient he is.

I don't want to put a number because he can surprise us, but we're going to keep a close eye on his workload for sure Verlander three and two with a three nine five ERA and ten starts so far this season his current stint on the end release his second after he opened the season on the

shelf because of inflammation in the right shoulder. The Astros just started a

stretch of 18 games without an off day. They said they are moving to a six man rotation until they get through

that 18 day stretch. Houston now as we mentioned five games over 500, excuse me, over the mariners in division well over five games over

five games over five games over the mariners in the division and now they get

Verlander back.
