For a number of years now, I've been obsessed with thinking about and researching

why this is so hard?

What makes it so hard for diverse societies to get along?

Why democratic institutions often inflame rather than reducing conflict?

And most importantly, how we can succeed anyway, how we can build a vision for diverse democracies

but most of their citizens would actually want to live in.

Well today I have exciting news. My book on this subject has just
