The New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays have reached an agreement in which the Tampa Bay Rays will play their home games at George M. Steinbrenner Field in 2025.

As we all know, the hurricane, Hurricane Helene hit Florida very hard.

And the roof of Tropicana Field was destroyed.

And so it came out over the last few days that to repair said roof would cost $57 million,

and it wouldn't be ready in 2025.

Wow.

So the Rays had to play somewhere else.

And they have decided to play at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

In fact, Hal has just released the statement.

The New York Yankees, we are happy to extend our hand to the Rays and their fans by providing a major league quality facility for them to utilize this season. Both the Yankees organization and my family have deep roots in Tampa Bay, and we understand how meaningful it is for the raise players, employees, and fans to have their 2025-25 home games take place within 30 minutes of

Tropicana Field.

In times like these, rivalry and competition take a backseat to what's right for our community,

which is continuing to help the families and businesses rebound from the devastation caused

by Hurricane Helene and Milton.

And all that is very, very true.

And I'm glad they were able to work something out.

I'm glad that baseball can remain in the Tampa area.

And I'm glad that they can do everything they can to help the families that have certainly

been affected by those horrible hurricanes.

What Hal doesn't mention in this statement, and there's nothing wrong with this, I just

want to give you guys the facts here, is that the New York Yankees are also collecting $15 million this year from the Tampa Bay Ray.

Yeah, that doesn't mean anything.
