Emergency episode for the Yankees not extending their manager, Aaron Boone.

That's right.

Didn't think an emergency episode was warranted for that.

Instead, Friday morning, a statement from Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner

regarding alteration of Yankees facial hair policy. It says, in recent weeks, I have spoken to a

large number of former and current Yankees spanning several eras to elict their perspective

on our longstanding facial hair and grooming policy,

and I appreciate their earnest and varied feedback.

These most recent conversations are an extension of ongoing internal dialogue that dates back

several years.

Ultimately, the final decision rests with me, and after great consideration, we will be amending

our expectations to allow our players and uniform personnel to have well-groomed beards

moving forward.

It is the appropriate time to move beyond the familiar comfort of our former policy.

To be honest with you, I did not think that a Steinbrenner would ever reverse this

policy because it started with George Steinbrenner in the 70s. You're going to hear on this

history episode that I originally recorded in May of 2020 how the policy started and why it was implemented. Really, really interesting stuff.
