Summary

Xabian tech specializes in designing and 3D manufacturing prosthetic lower limbs and sockets.
Xabian works by analyzing a 3D scan of the residual limb, and then designing the best fitting prostheses for that amputee. Traditionally it is an enormously challenging problem, but Xabian’s 3D scanning and printing of a matching socket to an amputee's residual limb makes the process simple, faster, and more customized.
Ben Hayward, CEO of Xabian Tech talks about prosthetic limbs’ attachment and the designing complications as well as about the psychological challenges of wearing a prosthetic.
Treating people remotely and developing low powered bionic legs are something that they have planned for the future. This is the first step in a long journey ahead in the field of biotech and something you don’t want to miss.

So, as you said, we work with prosthetics, particularly prosthetics for lower limbs, so for legs.

1:08.0

And attaching a prosthetics to the human body is incredibly difficult. You're attaching it to scar tissue and you're

1:15.0

having to support their entire body weight. So what we do is we've developed software

that designs the shape of that connection point that fits really well and is really comfortable for the MPT.

1:28.0

So do you, what do you 3D scan the site where you're going to attach to the prosthetic to get a fit?

1:36.0

Yes, that's correct. We use 3D scanner to capture the shape of their remaining leg and then we design from there what how what should that
