Summary
It felt like a weekend of broken hearts all around football, but Musa and Ryan begin with Manchester City’s win over Chelsea in the FA Cup final (02:12), to secure a domestic cup double and Pep Guardiola’s 20th trophy as City boss.
Chelsea were quick to counter the disappointment, as it was announced that Xabi Alonso will take over as manager in the summer (12:39) and that’s where the bulk of today’s show is focussed.
There’s enough time to chat about Celtic’s late win over Hearts (31:34), to secure their 14th title in 15 years in dramatic fashion, as well as a few other shoutouts.
Also, Musa did a new piece for the Kickback Soccer newsletter, which you can read here, and tickets for our July live show, with Nish Kumar at the Southbank Centre, are available here.

| 2:10.2 | move. Love to see it. But before that, should we talk about the FA Cup final? Because weirdly, |
| 2:16.5 | in the week that it was, it really felt like it was off the radar in the buildup. |
| 2:21.5 | There's a reason for that. There's a few reasons. I mean, look, I think with the mood around Chelsea, a lot of the fans, including some of those in our community, I think felt a bit underwhelmed, you know, not just by the season, but by the occasion. |
| 2:34.4 | And there was a sense of despondency about the club's general direction, which is, I mean, you look at them now and you couldn't be happier, really, with that guy coming in. We've managed to get a few reactions from some Chelsea fans that we'll talk about with the Jabby Lonzo thing. Yeah, the FA Cup, I think. I think when they first got to the ever-gcup final, I think, more than a lot I think it's going to be |
| 2:51.9 | in the next few weeks, |
| 2:52.8 | given the appointment. And then obviously for City, who were chasing this kind of, the most low-key domestic trouble, I think, of recent times. Because they could win a trouble, but it doesn't feel like any of, at no point do they feel like they've been like in charge of their destiny, which is a |
| 3:09.7 | strange thing to say. |
| 3:10.6 | Interesting season from there. |
