Hello and welcome to geek history lesson. You have stumbled on to the podcast where we take one, character, construct, or super team from popular culture and teach you everything you need to know

about them in about an hour. This, of course, features a TV writer from Kansas and a comic book

writer from Canada. The latter is me, Ashley Victoria Robinson. And I want to welcome you to

our first episode of 2026. Now, I know some of you are saying a mega

episode to start the year. Really? We do traditionally take two weeks off at the holiday and we use

those two weeks in order to record some GHL episodes for you. This year we didn't take off two

weeks at the holiday. We took one week off at the beginning of the year. We are currently still

just to like pull back the curtain for you a little bit, BASH recording our episodes for the year,

but we didn't want to leave you with nothing to listen to. And amazingly, at the beginning of the

year, we have had so much iconography coming through these sneak peek peaks from Avengers Doomsday that feature

mostly Cyclops. I'm not going to lie. And this is a Cyclops Apologist podcast. But so many

of the famous Jimli X-Men era images. So we thought, why not put together our second X-Men

mega episode for you highlighting some of the favorite characters of the people who make GHL.

So this week, you are going to get Diego Anthony Nunez's favorite, Emma Frost, my favorite night crawler, Jason Inman's favorite cable, and then we're rounding it off with my other favorite because I got to pick the lineup, Kitty Pride. We hope all of this X-Men joy and reexaminations and our passion for these characters comes through and we will see you next week with our first new original episode of 2026. Take it away. Let's look at the history of the X-Men. They have a lot of villains that have turned good

and have joined their team, including like Magneto and

Rogue, even Mystique, and including Emma Frost, the White Queen. Now, Ashley, let's think about

all of these characters. I want to run down this, you know, we're talking about Emma Frost today,

but I want you to give me a simple hero or villain answer when I say these names. Okay. So

Magneto. Uh, villain. Rogue. Hero. Mystique. Villain. Mastique. Villain. Okay. Now, why do you say that?

We haven't even started the episode. I'm going to, a lot of this episode is going to be talking about Emma Frost, hero or villain. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But why do you so quickly just go villain with the character of Emma Frost and the X-Men? All right. I, you know, we, we've solicited some questions as part of, uh, part of this podcast. And I know a lot of people, uh, really like Emma Frost.
