Summary

Cast your mind back to the year 2000. Okay great. And now think about the movie X-Men which introduced the world to the modern superhero movie with the likes of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Patrick Stewarts a bald guy, Ian McKellen as Magnet and Halle Berry as a much underused Storm. And with the likes of James Marsden coming back as Cyclops for Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 this decades old Marvel franchise has never been more relevant. And then there's the Bryan Singer of it all. YUCK. Anyways thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

Welcome back everybody to another episode of Caravada Garbage, where we're taking a look at some of original... We're taking a look... We're... Great intro, James. I also want to say that before you see... We hit the record button and you just stared into space for like five seconds. Are you prepared for this? Were you blown away by the majesty of X-Men 2000? I have extensive notes, Mason. Were you shocked by the fact that it has tobacco depictions? Oh, yeah.

0:24.2

I watched it on Disney Plus and that was one of the warnings that we got up front. Tobacco depictions. Yeah, right. I mean, neither positive or negative, but it's happening. Wolverine is smoking a big cigar and he does look really cool while he's doing it. He does look so cool and shirtless, doesn't he? Absolutely. Yeah, yeah. He can smoke a cigar shirt on, shirt off, while driving.

0:42.9

While driving, while not driving. Absolutely. Yeah. We're going to be taking a look at the early days

0:48.7

X-Men movies. Okay, sure. Now, these movies were critical in making superhero movies big again.

0:55.1

They peaked with like Superman and then original Batman 89, which is not the original

0:58.8

Batman.

0:59.3

There's one that's usually.

Shut up.

1:01.0

Please leave a like.

1:02.0

It wasn't even the original Batman as well.

1:04.3

Oh yeah, there was one before that, true.

1:06.2

But, you know, things had tapered off a bit.

1:08.3

Absolutely.

1:08.7

And this movie, of course, is largely credited for revitalising the genre, even though, to be fair, Blade came before it and also did a lot of heavy lifting. But this was pre-Spiderman. Also, I think Blade is probably not as recognizable as a superhero property. Oh, okay. Recently talked to somebody about... Let's discount Blade. Let's listen to Mason discount Blade.

1:28.7

Let's throw it out.

1:29.7

Let's chuck it in the bin.

1:30.9

I've spoken to a lot of people recently. That's not true. I haven't spoken to a lot of people recently. I've barely spoken to anybody recently. But I spoke to one person recently. I mentioned Blade is a comic book movie and they said, Blade is a comic book movie, I said yes.

1:43.5

Marvel.

1:44.2

But they were just like, that's a Dracula movie.

1:46.3

But it can be two things.

1:47.8

Absolutely. movie and they said, Blade is a comic book movie. I said, yes. Marvel. But they were just like,

that's a Dracula movie. But it can be two things. Absolutely. But I would say the X-Men,
