I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are discussing X from 2022, directed and written by

Ty West, starring Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega,

Brittany Snow, Martin Henderson, and Scott Meskadee.

In this film, it is the year 1979 and a group of free-loving Texans rent a farmhouse

to shoot a porno, but things go south when the owners of the farm find out what they're up to.

If you're new to the show,

we're going to talk some spoiler-free background info on this movie for the first 15 or 20 minutes

or so, but once you hear our little break and musical interlude, that means we're headed into

spoiler territory, and at that point, you'll want to duck out of the show and go watch this

in the theater so you don't get anything spoiled.

Oshvin, how were you feeling going into this movie? Were you hyped up or were you trying to

contain your hype based on how we've experienced films that we were excited about over the past

few months here? Yeah, yeah, I know. I've been really excited about this one. It wasn't on my

radar at all, but after seeing Scream back in January, I saw the trailer for this, and it's like a director I love.

The cast looked awesome.

The story looked really interesting.

So, yeah, I was pretty hyped up.
