90s. Was she a stand-up on that show? She wasn't a stand-up on that show. That's a great point. She was not actually a stand-up. Exactly. Exactly. I got you on that one.

So we are covering HBO Max's original series, Hacks, a story about Jean Smart playing an aging Vegas stand-up comedian.

So explicitly based on Joan Rivers. Yeah. Honestly, I assume they took parts from other. I'm sure there's, you know, Phyllis Diller and tons of other

comics, but it is so much Joan Rivers. Can you name other, other old white female stand-up comedians? Not off the top of my head.

So this show is created by Paul W. Downs, Lucian Yellow and Jens Statsky, all Broad City Elams. Yes. This is a Broad City and Jens Statsky worked on parks and

record, and Mark Scher's mic sure is also a producer on this. I always like to look at these HBO Max original series to see which of them were originally original

HBO Max original series in which we're press ganged into the HBO Max title. But no, this seems to be in HBO Max original original original. Yes. It is four episodes half an hour each. Oh, it really

feels like they took a feature script and hacked it up for television. These fucking hacks. That this is the titular hacking. I was wondering about that because I was just thinking of the term

hacks and how it applied to each of them. And I didn't even think that it applied to them. They're pitching it and the film editors are like, we got to hack this shit apart.

Nobody wants to watch movies these days. How true is it that somebody's like, hey, there's this new HBO mini series that's four half hour episodes and

each one is great versus, hey, do you want to watch this two hour movie on HBO? I'm not watching that movie. Never fucking never. You can't get me to sit down and watch something for two hours. I don't have that attention span.

The other main actor in this is a Hannah I'm Bunder playing Ava a young ginger comedy writer. I'm sure you really related to this. The fear when she arrived in Las Vegas. The the sun as a villain. The most antagonistic harsh environment. You could possibly put a ginger.

This is the first genuinely the first TV show where I've seen the sun portrayed as a villain that it is in the first two episodes. There's at least half a dozen times where the sun is shown as a harmful, vengeful presence that you have to avoid at all costs. And I appreciate that's already worth the price of admission.

By the way, I only watched the first episode. I was not intending to talk fast the first episode, but I have to have seen it because it continues to be a good show.
