0:23.2	back in 2017, at the D23 Expo, Disney announced a brand new theater that would accompany
0:29.8	Tony's Town Square, City Hall, the Firehouse, and a number of other buildings on Main Street,
0:36.0	USA, specifically in the town square.
0:38.8	Now, that idea has since been shelved,
0:40.9	but the building itself connects to a history in my neck of the woods.
1:14.0	Music Back in 2017, Disney announced plans for a historic change coming to Main Street and the Town Square at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
1:16.8	For casual fans of Disney theme parks and even Disney Insiders, the Main Street
1:21.3	theater announcement was a complete surprise.
1:24.3	What might happen in this new venue?
1:26.3	Could we see movement of great moments with Mr. Lincoln for
1:29.0	Walt Disney World's 50th? Maybe the backstory of building the Walt Disney World Resort? Would there be
1:34.3	an animatronic of Walt Disney himself promoting Epcot or the Walt Disney World Project? Sadly,
1:39.8	unlike the Tron coaster, the Skyliner, the Star Wars Resort Hotel, and countless other upgrades
1:45.2	to the Walt Disney World property, the Main Street theater idea was shelved. We don't know if
1:50.2	this theater will ever see the light of day, but what we do know about the theater is that it
1:54.4	has indirect ties to Walt Disney, Disney Studio history, and surprisingly our own history here in
2:00.7	the Kansas City area on Wedway Radio. The fire that destroyed the Coates Opera House in 1900 left Kansas City with no first-class
2:26.8	theater.
