Welcome to another Friday night. It is your Friday night's Smackdown review. Week two of two hours Smackdowns. I think someone forgot to tell WWE based on the ending of the show tonight and the abrupt cutoff at the very end that they were not going three hours tonight. In fact, they are back to two hours for what ended up being a very eventful, not a great,

but a very eventful episode of SmackDown, where at least there were some things,

some important things that happened. It wasn't by any means a throwaway show. The biggest of all

being that we got not just a new SummerSlam match announced, but arguably the biggest

summer slam match that will be on the card this year was made official tonight.

We had the brand new WWE champion CM Punk in the house tonight.

He is now officially a member of the Blue Brand for the first time since coming back to the

company three years ago. And that match is going since coming back to the company three years ago.

And that match is going to be, to the surprise of no one, if you've been paying attention,

CM Punk defending the WWE championship against Cody Rhodes.

This is a match that they have held off on doing ever since Punk came back to the company.

They've had

little moments, interactions, and backstage segments or in-ring segments that teased a future

match between them. Absolutely a WrestleMania match at any mania you want to do it in.

And we're getting it at SummerSlam this year. Biggest reason we're getting it at SummerSlam

is because they have a shit ton of

tickets left to sell and don't let anybody tell you any differently.

But I'm glad that we're finally getting it, you know, it's a match I've been waiting

for it for a very long time.

Again, it sucks that Sammy Zane got shuffled to the side to do it now of all time.
