Hello everybody and welcome to rewind a raw it is a brand new week here at post-wrestling and kicking things off it is rewind a raw typically the the biggest ask I have any guest co-host of a given week and doing the honors this week you know him you love him former WWE writer a long time member of the extended post-wrestling family Brian man is here with us Brian how are you?

I'm great I spent my evening very well I appreciate you having me on thank you so much well thank you for for stepping into to do this with us because Ross not always the easiest one but is coming at an interesting time I think in in WWE's entire history so that was a part of the interest of having you on to chat about all of these recent changes and we will see how they are playing themselves out but I want to welcome everyone that is joining us live

Oh I think life's been pretty great pretty you know it's a weird time for the world but I'm pretty happy with how it's treating me personally I haven't really been I got to be honest haven't been watching much of WWE lately so this was you know this was new for me obviously I mean the last time we were spoken was the day that Vince announced that he was like there it was the investigation was that or that he was stepping away.

I think we did a show the day he was stepping away. Right yeah I'm trying to remember if it was the for I think it was the very I think it was the initial one right when it was like the first wall street journal story so that would have been like mid June right they're like oh he'll be on Smackdown tonight and I remember I predict yes it could be the last time we see on WTB I was off by two appearances but I wasn't so far off I mean that's the thing that's been the craziest about this is that obviously we can say the thing with

the staff when she came out they chanted thank you Vince was a little weird the weirder thing to me was the fact that they did not even put a image of him on screen and they're all they were in the garden four days later and they're like no sweep this under the rug get this out of here as quickly as you can it's just it is wild to think that Vince McMahon retires from WWE and they don't even put his picture on screen it's yeah it really shows you the gravity of the situation it really does I mean it makes you see that that

just the fact that they felt secure enough to send Stephanie out there and clearly did not have that same confidence by Monday that other than the the Roman reigns and Paul Heyman you know illusions to Vince very subtly like Vince feels like it's it's just a subject we are not going to address in any way publicly they will you know put over Vince and his contributions but it's it's very much limited to that like they are not going to

glorify this figure on their own broadcast and it was something to see that that first raw the show he's going to be most associated with and his actual name was never mentioned the week after he walks out and I cannot say it's the it's the wrong call that they're making either I think that this is very much positioning this is this is the new WWE and it's a post Vince world that they are moving through and once they got through that first day where the stock took no no effect

it'll affect it's like there's optimism about a sale there's optimism on many fronts Vince was not this this anchor his exit at least wasn't that they probably always thought would be the case

well and honestly I think that a little bit of that you know only events can do this I think was a little bit of you know myth making that he put out there and I think that over the last couple of years obviously we have no proof of this but if I just say if I did predict I think that his instability has probably been very clear to people on the inside

and I think that if you are a member of that board or maybe if you are talking to high up investors I think maybe they they let people know that this is not going to be an issue

this is actually for the best getting Vince out of here the whole thing is not going to come tumbling down yeah I think that we've seen over the last couple of years there's been a lot of very erratic decision making

and I think that I don't know it's it's so it's such an interesting situation because it is twofold and I think with Vince not going out there that first or that final night when Steph went out and then not showing his photo I have to say that that feels like that is maybe more of a network decision

oh we don't want him seen and then once this stuff comes out about the SEC investigation where it's like okay though this company cannot have any connection to this guy because now there are much larger implications of that it isn't simply who you would love like is Vince still the puppet master no he cannot have contact with these people because of ongoing federal investigations some very different it this is more than just a PR sort of you now

so if you are looking at this as kind of the the Vince McMahon farewell story okay if this were a documentary what chapter are we on when it comes to Vince McMahon are we right at the end or are there chapters to come

I think it really depends on how this investigation goes you know if they I don't think he's getting it out pretty clear but I also don't know if he's necessarily going to go on trial I don't think it'll go that far but he'll maybe he gets it with a penalty maybe there's some sort of you know I I don't know what sort of penalty they can they can throw his way I think he's out of the company for good I don't think they can they can bring him back after this

how about how about his career options beyond WWE I mean the guy is turning 77 in just a few weeks and I mean he is he is loaded with capital if he if he will be received in in the business community I mean he is coming off a pretty public I would say a pretty damaging end with with the XFL and then this is compounded on top of that so his name is probably the most damaged we have we have seen it

in our lifetime at this point and that does cover a lot of ground but the combination of those I don't know yeah I don't know what he can do I think the XFL and everything that happened with all of our north is very if you are a high up figure I think that you're not wanting to get into business with this guy yeah you know I just don't see what's next for I don't know what he would want to do I don't know who would want to do it with him

I think it's just collecting a lot of money and remaining private maybe in a couple years they the company tries to bring him back with a Hall of Fame induction or something in five or 10 years maybe I highly doubt it
