As soon as they announced that Sammy Zane was going to be defending the WWE championship on Monday,

on a show that he really had no business putting the title on the line anyway because he's a Smackdown star.

But as soon as they announced this match on SmackDown, as soon as we realized that Raw was

in Chicago this week, you knew something was going to happen.

Now, I didn't know it was going to go down exactly the way that it did, but I said this

on the sound off, and I think most people probably had that

feeling in their stomach in the pit of their stomach, if they were a Sammy Zane fan, that this

championship run was not going to last very long. Enjoy it while you can. Sammy Zane's taking pictures of himself eating pizza with

the title sitting on the table. He's drinking his coffee. He's riding around town in his

convertible with the championship sitting next to him. It's as if he knew, I need to enjoy life while I still can because it will only be a fleeting

moment before this championship ends up on somebody else.

Nine days ago, Sammy Zane won the WWE championship and he won it in Riyadh.

Now, he had contested for the title earlier this year in Saudi Arabia, and he lost.

So he went into Saudi a second time, and he won.

For the first time in his career, he won a world championship here on the main roster.

And I had people saying, well, you know, the only reason they put the belt on him was because

they were in Saudi.

And I said, well, I mean, that's not the only reason they put the belt on him.

But I'm sure they looked at where they were going to be.

And they said, hey, if we're going to do this, right?
