Tonight's Monday Night Raw was a lame duck episode heading into the

W. W. W. W. W. Drap, which kicks off on Smackdown this upcoming Friday.

It continues into Raw next week. Definitely not the most exciting episode tonight. I struggled with calling this a

filler episode because I don't know that using the word filler is necessarily the

right way to describe this show tonight because there were a lot of things that happened

tonight. The biggest thing was crowning a new women's world heavyweight champion,

Ria Ripley forced to vacate her title last week due to injury. They made the decision to put the title up at a battle royal tonight

is not the way that I would have gone with it I'm not a fan of putting the title up in

battle royals to begin with.

Michael Cole even mentioned the fact tonight during the show that it's only happened

three other times prior to tonight and the first time in 17 years. There's a reason for that. Now obviously the injury is the real

reason for it. But you got two tournaments coming up. You got the King of the

ring and the Queen of the Ring coming up in Saudi Arabia next month.

I would have liked to have seen the women's world title up for grabs in the Queen of the Ring.

All right, really up the stakes there.

But they felt like they were in an Uber rush to get this belt onto somebody and the person that they got the belt on to was the safe choice

We weren't sure coming into today whether or not Becky Lynch was going to be in this battle royal.

She has not been seen since WrestleMania.

But the minute that I saw that she was added to the graphic, it became pretty obvious
