On a day that was dominated by headlines, about 57-year-old Stone Cold Steve Austin, possibly

being lured back for a WrestleMania match, and Cody and Brandy Rhodes, Cody Rhodes,

one of the founding fathers of all elite wrestling leaving AEW, say it ain't so.

But despite all of that, tonight we talk about the developmental show, because tonight

was a special edition of NXT, a special Vengeance Day episode of NXT 2.0 here for February

15th, 2022, the day after Valentine's Day, but since they had the Valentine's branding,

we have the hearts, very Valentine's-esque edition of the stream here tonight, hope you

all had a good Valentine's Day, I am the Salomonster.

Tonight's show is headlined by an NXT Championship defense, the very first NXT title defense

of one Braun Breaker putting the belt on the line against Santos Escobar, getting his

first crack at the NXT Championship took long enough.

This guy's been one of the more underrated talents in this company, not just the brand,

the entire company, for months.

So this was a big spot for him tonight.

In North American Championship on the line, Carmelo Hayes, spending against Cameron Grimes,

I expected that to be very good, and those two guys went out there and delivered tonight.

In fact, I think they delivered the best match on the entire show.

The match that I was looking forward to the most was the finals of the men's dusty cut,

the Creed Brothers taking on MSK last year's winners.

That match also good, but disappointing.

Disappointing.
