I want you to redefine the way you look at success. You know, it's not about a championship, it's about believing in yourself. I was showing her something I did with Charlotte Blair in a match in 2014, my favorite match that I was in and I said, try this. How do you keep ahead of it? That's a great question, and this is what I talk a lot about at our ring. You cannot get comfortable. Monday Night Raw is number one world record for the

0:21.7

longest episodic TV show ever. And then Smackdown is number two. When I saw Miss Elizabeth,

0:27.0

she came over to her house when we were kids. She, Randy, was a good friend of my dad's. I feel like

0:31.2

a theme is, why not me? And I personally struggle with that too. So after all the self-discovery and reflection upon what you wanted to put inside the book, how do you deal with like, why not me? Why can't I be the one to do this? Why can't I take this over? Well, it's all about perspective. So that's a great like takeaway from the book because there's a lot of different takeaways from the book. There's so many strong messages in the book and people that are reading it.

1:11.9

Um, a lot of the girls from work that I share, you know, the female superstars in WWB, the talent. There's been a lot of them that have let read the book or shared chapters of the book or gotten their feedback or advice as I was writing the book. And, um, they're taking, they're all taking away a lot of different themes and they're looking at it and they're looking

1:13.9

at themselves a lot of a lot of different themes and

1:12.5

they're looking at it and they're looking at themselves a lot when they're reading the book saying like

1:16.4

i wish i i wish i had this when i was first getting started or like this healed me so much or i got

1:22.0

to the end of the book and i had to like really think about like my own success and my own career

1:27.2

and how i define success and like those those are the questions and the things I want people thinking about. I don't want them just to read the book and go, I learned a lot about WWE. Like it's really, I love WWE and I love wrestling. I've grown up around wrestling my whole life. But the book is there's so many strong messages there you don't have to

1:44.8

love wrestling to understand this book but if you love wrestling you'll love the book but you don't have

1:49.7

to like it's it's a really there's the message is universal and so one of those messages is why not me

1:55.1

and so I didn't realize that was going to be a theme until I kind of got to the end of the book. And I was like,

2:02.3

wow. Like I went almost two decades of my career kind of selling myself short because I just

2:09.3

assumed that maybe people like, you know, I'd always, it was a defense mechanism. It was a trauma

2:13.8

response that I was like, people aren't going to like you. That's okay because, you know, you still have a job and you're, you're in the game and it's, you know, you're, you're, you're going to help others and it's going to be, you know, you're, you can be a part of all this if you just kind of know your role and take a back seat. And I got to the end of the book and I won't give everything away, but I was like,

2:34.8

why not me? Why can't I be everything I wanted to be? Like, I realized sometimes it was me

2:39.7

that was holding me back, that it was all about a perspective and mindset. And so when I, you know,

2:45.5

the very first time I won a championship in WWE, I've spoken about this a little bit before, but

2:49.9

let me elaborate. The very first time I won a championship in WWE, I felt so insecure. I didn't feel like I deserved it. I felt like it was all I could think about from the second I wanted was that it wasn't going to last. I was already thinking about when it was going to get taken off of me. And I was really looking at the championship as something like that defined me.

3:08.8

Like, okay, I've got it now and I'll just be important for a few like weeks, but then they're going to take it off me and I just need to figure out how to like rebuild after they take it off of me. I didn't let myself enjoy that moment. That was on me. It wasn't on WWE. It wasn't on my coworkers, it was just on me because I was so in my own head. By the time I won the women's

3:27.6

championship, on me. It wasn't on WWE. It wasn't on my coworkers. It was just on me because I was so in my own head. By the time I won the women's championship in 2017, my husband, T.J. said, he goes, like, because I said to him, I'm like, I can't believe they're going to put the title on me. Like, this feels crazy. It doesn't even feel real. And he's like, why not you? He's like, haven't you done the work?
