Mayo, you taught me like a trick or I don't know if it's a feature or a quirk of the messages

app last week. Do you remember that? Wait, did I? You did. Because I was, so I'm going out of town

this week and I was searching in my messages app trying to find a time when something was happening.

Yes. I knew that one of my friends was taking Thursday off completely, and another one was working

on Thursday, but only till a certain time. And I couldn't remember what time they were getting off.

So I knew that the message contained Thursday, because his text was like, I'm off Friday,

but I'm working until three on Thursday. So like, okay, I'm just going to go search in messages

for Thursday and find that text. Thought it'd be super easy. My first instinct, though, when I searched Thursday, was that it was showing me literally every I message ever since. I thought search was just completely busted. So I see you a screenshot of it and I was like, what is going on here? Like a search just broken. And then what did you point out to me? Oh, yeah, because you searched for the word Thursday looking for texts, including the word Thursday. Yes. And you were like, what are all these random messages? I don't understand. Messages search sucks, which is a fair position to start from because message search is not the best. Not a great leap in logic there. Yeah. Even after they revamped it like twice, it has gotten better than what

used to be, it used to be literally dreadful. Now it's like, okay. But it turns out if you search

Thursday, your messages search, it will show you text that include the word Thursday, but it also

just show you any message that was sent on a Thursday. And there's no bifurcation between those

results, right? It's like all the messages

sent on any Thursday and then also intermixed with all that, any other messages sent on other

days that contain the word Thursday, which I understand like the thinking behind showing the

messages in on a particular day when you search for a day of the week.

But there's got to be some sort of like setting or more advanced search or like put it in quotes or something to try to just find the actual word Thursday.

They need it like what they have in photos where you have the little, um, the little like filter tag button things.

You know what I mean, right?
