and this is what was most useful and most exciting about Apple's 2025 developer conference keynote.

Now, Apple does always try to make everything sound brilliant, but this time there are some

really significant updates that are going to improve how you use, the iPhone, the Mac, the iPad,

and more. And updates that are just kind of make, they'll make it feel like you've got a new device.

the Mac and even Apple TV, Apple Watch, everything. The short version is that it intends to

make your content, the work you're doing or the media you're using be more prominent

and the devices controls be

less in your way those controls now all come with a kind of glassy transparent look which apple says

is the biggest redesign since ios 7 and it is too but it's also better than perhaps it sounds because

if you're picturing totally transparent controls on the iPhone,

you're not exactly wrong, but it's all been done with Apple's typically subtle graphic design.

There's no mistaking, for example, what is a control and what isn't, which was actually initially

an issue with iOS 7, but it is also true that the controls are no longer so in your face distracting.

Plus, Apple has worked to simplify those controls so that at least at first, you just see

which ones are the most often used. The clearest example of that so far is in the redesigned

camera app. This now only shows you the buttons for taking a photo or start in record video.

Everything else is still there, but it's all just a swipe away. And it includes actually a swipe

to bring in features like the timer or flash. And I know this is just me, but I have forever

struggled to remember how to turn the flash on or figure out actually or keep
