And another great day in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth. Not only a great nation, but a greatly fortunate nation. And Americans have never felt so fortunate, so privileged, so protected by a benign and smiling providence

as we did at the end of 1914 and throughout most of 1915. Why? Because America was at peace.

We were safe from all the bloodshed and all the horror and all the destruction that was going on in Europe as part of World War I.

And the overwhelming majority of Americans, I mean, by very, very huge numbers, wanted to stay out of the war at all costs.

So what changed?

How did we go from that sentiment to a situation where two million American young men were sent across the Atlantic Ocean into the hellish fighting in Europe?

That's the subject of this very special broadcast of the Michael Medved show.
