Hi there. We are wrapping up our interview series and in some ways the entire examination of the LDS Church with a brilliant theologian and self-reclaimed nihilism survivor, Britt Hartley.

She is an ex-LDS member herself and her social presence is filled to the brim with thoughtful and creative ways to learn

to live in a world that may not be focused on a second life any longer and how to handle

the transitional stages of deconstruction as it goes from Mormons or anyone coming from a religious

background who might feel lost. I personally find her focus on secular spiritualism

so fascinating and I think that you will too. And on a side note, I just want to thank you all

Sure. So for people listening, my name's Britt Hartley, and I'm an atheist spiritual director.

And the easiest way to maybe

explain that is, yeah, to just to just briefly tell you my story. And we can go into any of this

if you want to, but just to keep it brief. I was raised Mormon. I was losing my faith in that religion.

That came out in teenage rebellion. I ended up getting kicked out of my home.

I kind of found my way to like nuanced Christianity and apologetics and went to theology school.

I just figured I had the wrong religion and everybody told me like, you just have the wrong Jesus.

And I was like, okay, that's great. I'll find the right Jesus.
