With over 100,000 Russian troops amassed at the Ukrainian border,

the world holds its breath at the prospect of war.

Unfortunately, what's happening at the moment is the result of years of appeasement on the part of Donald Trump towards Vladimir Putin, which is now strangely playing center stage with voices

from the far right siding with Russia over our Ukrainian ally. Ukraine is an incredibly

important country.

It's suffered probably as much or more as any country before and since World War II.

It's a hinge point to the west between Russia and Europe.

It is in Europe.

It's a country the size of France.

And as Ned said over and over, this rules-based order that we've had since World War II has kept the peace since World War II.

We are witnessing a strange thing here, folks.

The macho men of the right who could usually be counted on to angrily denounce communism, socialism, liberalism, and fucking ISM have now become appeasers of the worst order. Their admiration for

Putin and his authoritarian impulses are stronger than their desire to protect our democratic
