Yesterday we talked on Stock Market Live about the producer price index

coming in hotter than expected.

Now we have the consumer price index numbers coming in hot,

a new 40 year high, which I feel like we're

saying over and over and over again this year year over year

CPI is 8.2% core CPI 0.5% is month over month the year over year

core CPU is 6. month. The year over year, core C. P. P. P. P. P. P. P.

And the Parell fell. 3 percent. Communication index edged down. 1 percent.

But the food index climbed 0.8% in September, the same increase as August, and the energy index declined 2.1% after falling 5% in August.

Obviously, everybody's got eyes on the CPI number.

The market looks like as we're, you know,

filming this right now, it looks like it's shrugging off the number.

It looks like it doesn't even care.

Yeah, so the initial reaction is always hard to gauge.

I mean, we sort of flash crashed right after the report. what a lot of people were noticing as the market was falling in the minutes after the report was that the VIX wasn't going up.

The VIX was actually going down as the market was down like two two and a half percent.

And now the market's rallying and the day-to-day stuff is really, really hard to navigate.
