This week, we look at a number from Ethiopia that made headlines around the world.

Ethiopia has broken a world record after planting more than 350 million trees in just one day.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed spearheaded the project which aims to counter the effects of deforestation and climate change in the drought-prone country.

But some more or less listeners question this.

I cannot believe this is possible.

Am I the only one who finds this figure difficult to comprehend?

How many trees can one person plant in one day?

We decided to look into this, but it was quite difficult to verify the numbers

because the only source of information right now is the government in Ethiopia.

Global Forest Watch, an organisation that uses satellites to monitor forests around the world, said that they'll only be able to see the new trees in about two years or so.

But we realise there are a lot of questions to ask about this

tree planting situation. How many people would it take to plant this many trees? How many can

one person plant in a day? And how long do you have to look after the trees after planting them?
