One and the same. Now, have you ever been told that you have Native American or Indians in your family? Now, regardless of any racial classification, have you been told

that before? I mean, whether you're white or you identify as Hispanic or black American.

Now you know and I know that race has no basis in science, but play along with me as we

dig a little deeper into the historic and social and cultural concepts that we're working

with, like race.

And give me some leverage on the issue and use of terms.

Now, you know, in most American families, stories and family legends about Indians in the family

background or source of pride and distinction, especially if that connecting family has been in America

since before the Civil War, say 1850 or sooner, they probably have that story or family lure.

Now the focus in this episode is a little different, different angle, different view on the historic and very complex relationship

between black Americans and Indians in America.

Now, we won't examine in any great detail exceptions, but rather focus on the general and the most common aspects of that connection.
