Hello creatives. I'm Joanna Penn. And this is episode 559 of the podcast. And it is Tuesday Tuesday the 22nd of June 2021 as I record this.

In today's show, I'm talking to Armit Gupta about pseudorite.com, a writing tool built on top of

GPT3, a natural language generation engine. Now, I've talked about GPT3 in a number of episodes now,

so I'm not going to explain that.

So I've had access to the GPT3 beta for a while, but after initially playing with it and

trying to figure it out, I found it wasn't useful enough to me and it was just too hard.

It didn't, it wasn't fun particularly, it wasn't very useful.

I could see some potential, but I just didn't have the ability to turn that into reality.

So I stopped using it. And it was just quicker for me to do my own thing. But then when I read about

pseudo-write in a New Yorker article, at the end of April, I was like, I've got to get into that.

Because what pseudo-write does is it's like a front end on GPT3

with a lot more help and direction. And in this interview, Armet explains some of the functions

like the describe function, which I love, twists, character generation, the wormhole text

generator and more. And this is truly the first tool, the sort of AI writing tool, and I've

looked at lots of them. I've been playing with them for, what, six, eight months now. And this is the

first one I've thought, this is great. It makes it fun. Look, I'm even smiling as I think about it
