Nine years ago today, June 1st, 2012.

It always goes rapidly.

We always think.

But he was a unique individual.

We were basically the same age.

He was 66 when he died. I think I was actually

a couple of months older than him, but he came into my life in the middle 80s when he called

our radio show, Monday night sports talk, to report that Bud Grant was going to quit for the second time.

And this was in early December.

And Joe and I, of course, in the spirit of the show, went with it as solid information that we have now learned.

We have now learned that this was going to happen, even though we had no idea who this

guy was, right?

I've heard of him.

I worked for Jelko leasing at the time.

And so then it comes true.
