locked on chiefs podcast.

Welcome back to lockdown chiefs. It's a new Thursday and there's more to talk about now folks. We are on the road today. I am in particular

recording via phone. So I know it doesn't quite sound the way it normally does. We'll be back to normal next week.

But now we record this a little bit beforehand so you will hear more out from the team, from the coaches, interviews, etc. After we record this, that's going to have the mail bag for you on Friday

and we're going to take the weekend to ingest all this information will be back

next week with reaction to what we learn on Thursday but there's a couple of

topics that we need to go over already.

cards for them but a little piece of information is that EJ manual took a job as a

media type going to be doing television for the ACC network covering the

Seminole. Seems like he's pretty excited about it but that it's fairly clear to me

part of the reason why he chose to retire and not try to get into a prolonged competition to be a backup quarterback for the chiefs.

Well, I really don't know that he was ever in the running to be a backup quarterback for the chiefs.

He may have just been a camp arm and I think that they probably would have maybe looked at him being cut, you know, the very last cut, but I don't think he was going to be on the roster starting day one. So it makes sense. I don't think he was going to be long for the NFL regardless after the way his crew shaped out so far.

So good for him, good to kind of find something and move in that direction.

And you have to wonder if that was something that he had been approached about before he decided to retire.

Yeah, I would have to think so. And it just makes too much sense. You know, go back to what you know and what you did best and take that for what's worth.

Today we wanted to make sure that we got some things covered as the OTA's are starting to wrap up.
