Summary

If you could sub in a professional golfer for one shot each hole, what would it be? In this episode, Mark talks Lou and Greg through a recent video of his that tests this question. On some holes, he hit a tee shot for his friend; on others, the approach shot. Which helped more? And which might make the biggest difference in your game? Knowing this might give you an insight as to the best place to invest your practice time.

So I did a little interesting experiment the other day, Lou, you're like this.

0:04.2

It wasn't enough holes.

0:05.3

It was made for YouTube as a general conversational piece.

0:08.7

So I got Rory, who I worked with, who was around a 10 index.

0:14.2

We played eight holes, right?

0:16.3

And we played four holes where we both hit T shots.

0:20.7

And if my T shot was better than his, he then finished the hole from my T-shot.

0:25.2

So in effect, he's got a pro hitting his T-shots.

0:28.2

But he also has a chance of hitting one as well.

0:31.6

And then for the next four holes, we did that he hit all the t-shots

0:37.6

but then we both played the approach shots

0:39.9

from wherever he finished

0:41.4

and if my approach shot beat his

0:43.8

he would play my approach shot

0:45.1

which I think generally my approach shot did

0:47.5

so he just then finished out the holes

0:49.3

from my approach shots

0:51.3

so the general question

0:54.0

which we'll talk about today is if you had a pro playing all

0:57.8

your T-shots, or if you had a pro playing all your approach shots, which would contribute

1:02.5

to you being a better golfer.

1:05.8

Good question.
