Welcome into the NextPats podcast.

I'm Phil Perry, a post- deadline edition of the next Pat's podcast.

We're going to be talking about why the Patriots ended up not making any moves before the Halloween deadline, what that means for the team moving forward, and some suggestions for what they should do moving forward as they build towards 2024 and whatever is coming next for this franchise as they're in the middle

of a two and six seemingly lost kind of 2023 season.

We're also bringing in our good friend, J.P. Finley.

Nobody covers the commanders better than J.P. Finley.

And he's here not only to talk about this weekend's game at Jolet Stadium, but also to talk to us about

what the rebuild in Washington might suggest for the Patriots who are in their own

rebuild right now moving forward. And if the commanders would ever be interested in trading

for Bill Belichick. So we'll get to our conversation with JP in just a little bit,

but first we want to share with you some of the things that I learned leading up to

and just after the trade deadline and after conversations with people within the Patriots

organization, but also around the league who were able to shed some light on

exactly what was available for New England in any potential

deals, especially in potential deals for their free agents to be.

So we're talking about Josh Uche, Kyle Dugger, Hunter Henry, Trent Brown, Kendrick Bourne.

Unfortunately, at one point in time, was a part of that list.

And boy, maybe he would have loved to end up somewhere else a contender with a good quarterback chance to put up real yards before

hitting free agency unfortunately for him he tears his ACL down in Miami so that removes him
